Yeovil Opportunity Group

Working with children and families who have a variety of additional needs, we offer time and space and many years of experience to help change lives.

With a clear duty of care, embedded in the very beginnings of the Yeovil Opportunity Group, and with enormous passion, we offer early intervention with appropriate therapy and learning through play to young children and their their families within a supportive and safe environment, with skilled staff and multi-agency planning. In addition, the Opportunity Group offers a great location for the therapists, paediatricians and a range of multi-agency professionals to engage with the children all on one site.

  • A specialist & highly trained team of staff with many years of experience
  • Children receive one to one Music Therapy
  • Our ratio of children to staff is 1:3, with most children receiving 1:1 support each day on their learning & development journey
  • As a charity, we are able to provide the high level of additional support by fundraising and through donations
  • On going individual and family support

What is the Opportunity Group?

Still leading the way in pre-school education for children and families with additional needs after nearly 50 years, Yeovil Opportunity Group was amongst the first of its kind in the country to offer specialist support. It was founded by a paediatrician and a social worker who saw the need for therapy and learning through play and family support for children with special needs, 0-5 years.

The Group can consider taking any child, depending on theirs and/or the family's level of need. You don't need a referral to attend, however referrals can come from general practitioners, health visitors, paediatricians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists as well as other pre-schools and nurseries.

Yeovil Opportunity Group operates as a voluntary, committee run specialist pre-school provision and is a registered charity
